Later in the night, the open space is empty. I am exhausted from my day. I want to switch my computer off, but I have to keep my promise. I am quite afraid about doing a weird thing and I don’t even know the man. I imagine his answer somewhere along the lines of “there are so many other women like you who want to be an actress”. So, I start to google his name. I discover he is a coach of some of the best French actresses in the World. Now, here I am impressed and even more afraid. I remember the teacher and the word “excuse”. Without thinking, I type his name in the recipient box of my email, and start to write to him my wish. When I close my computer, I am not even here, in this open space. I am excited. One day after, in the first line of my inbox, his name appears. My heart beats. I click on his email and read. In a warm message, the coach proposes me to meet him in a week. I want to scream. My courses with the teacher ended a few weeks later. One day, I saw him at the elevator of my agency. In a timeless moment, he told me: “I have pushed you to escape from this place and be who you are. One day, my great pleasure will be to see you have disappeared from this company, like in “Good Will Hunting.”. 99 THE CONE - ISSUE #7 - FALL 2015
