(The scroll breaks there, then seems to pick up with them midway into the next day’s conversation.)
“…you didn’t! Oh, I can’t (expletive deleted) deal with this today! Honey, no, I thought we had an
understanding…he is not a (expletive deleted) pig…oh, no, wait, here’s today’s trade paper…
“Oh, I don’t believe this! Without even a courtesy call to me…!
“A page one rewrite, that’s what! Honey, he didn’t just fire you, he’s gotten rid of everyone, except the
man I should’ve been behind from the get-go! You no-talent Vegas bimbo…!
“No, I don’t know what that means, either! But I do know we’re all gone! We’re all g-“
(The scroll seems to somehow immediately cut off, like time simply…stopped. Scholars still haven’t
figured out exactly what happened. Whatever the case, there’s an eight day and 18 minute gap in the
scrolls, which again, then pick up in mid-conversation.)
“…and I’m so glad we worked out our little…misunderstanding, Miss Lilith.
“Sorry…Ms.
“Remember, you don’t want to go too far with that for a little while. I know I don’t want to go their the
last few days of eternal nothingness ever again, that’s for sure.
“But, hey, I didn’t even tell you the good news yet! Who loves you? Who works for you, with you, by
you? That’s right. I got you some work. It’s a little tricky but I think you’ll be perfect for it…
“The Devil’s wife.
“OW! With the screeching again…!
“Look, I know it’s not as juicy as the lead but it has its moments…I can tell you one thing. People won’t
soon forget the name Lilith, that’s for sure.
“Lil…honey…I’ve got to go. Another meeting. yes, I do have other people on this production to deal
with, you know this…I’m just glad you’re still going to work with us, ‘Devil’s wife’! Oh, I love it! You’ll be
gorgeous, with the horns, and smoke…I’m thinking Grace Jones meets Joan Crawford but again, I don't
know exactly what that means yet.
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Ciao.”
(There’s a momentary break in the scroll. Then-)
“Eve! My favorite new lead actress! Wonderful to see you!
“Are you losing weight, darling? Why don’t we get you something to eat? My treat.”
And the rest, as they say is history.
