Technology Services West Platte School District promotes an environment which leverages technology to provide a superior education system and prepares its students to succeed in a global society. Pre-kindergarten to first grade will have access to tablets for use during the school day, and second and third grade students will be issued laptops. Fourth through twelfth grade students will be issued a tablet for use during the school year. High School students will pick up their tablets when they register, and elementary students will be able to utilize their devices beginning with their first days of school. The District will not be collecting money for self-insurance pool on tablets this year. Rather, if negligent or intentional damage occurs, West Platte will seek reimbursement from the student and levy the full replacement cost (see board policy EFB). Parents may choose a third-party to insure their devices. Information on this insurance option can be found on our website: http://wpsd.net/tablets.
