acts of

kindness

Several years ago, my cousin, Amberlee, was a recipient of a beautiful long blonde wig after she lost her hair while fighting leukemia. She was very grateful for the wig that helped her feel a little more normal in a very trying circumstance.

Last year, another cousin, Lisa, was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was 4 months pregnant with her fourth child. She waited for the baby to be born before starting chemo therapy. During that time, the cancer spread into her spine. As soon as the baby was born, chemo was started. It wasn't long before she lost her beautiful brown hair. A wig helped her feel better about her situation and helped her look normal to her young children. Lisa is on her way to recovery, but still has a long way to go.

So, in honor of my two cousins, I donated 12 inches of my hair to Wigs for Kids. I prefer my hair long, but am happy to be able help someone else look and feel better about themselves, while enduring difficult trials.
