s I sit and contemplate over the message I want to leave you this month, my 8-year old daughter is snoring next to me after having a bad bout of the stomach flu this evening.

I know that it would be easy to feel overwhelmed and angry that while I have 'work' to do, I still have to tend to my sick child. However, those thoughts don't stand a chance.

It has taken time and life experiences to get to the state-of-mind where I now live daily. I am blessed. My trials are nothing compared to others. I have seen this in many of my dear friends' lives. Many of them have battled cancers, divorces, family tragedies and even the loss of a child.

My daughter's breath envelops my very soul. She is here. She is alive. I am her mommy. I am needed. I am grateful.

Too many times we get lost in the everyday trivial stresses. While we go through our reasonings for being upset or frustrated, someone somewhere is wishing they had an easier life.

I have chosen not to take a single life experience for granted. I am grateful for every breath my children take.

Having people enter your life who affect you in a positive way can be a gift. You can choose to learn from them. Take the good of everyone and make it yours. Live each day striving to be better than the day before.

This month we were honored with the opportunity to feature our first ever, kid cover! 10-year old Miah Green exemplifies the spirit of service. Her mother, Dawn, shows us the true meaning of motherhood. She has supported Miah from day one and has strengthened her belief that she could do anything she sets her mind to. She has instilled invaluable traits in her children, particularly kindness. What a beautiful thing to see in this world so full of hatred and judgment. We could all learn from Dawn and Miah, and be the change we want to see in the world.

Miah has done just that. She has begun changing the world with her kindness and volunteer work. She is affecting others in such a postive way that she, at the young age of 10, is already leaving her legacy on those who have been lucky enough to have this beautiful young lady in their life.

Thank you Dawn and Miah. I have learned more wonderful lessons by getting to know you.

May you all take a little something from their message and pay it forward.

xoxo,

Missy
