Spring Cleaning is in full swing. While you're cleaning out the kids toy bin, or finally getting around to tidying up the garge, don't forget to Spring Clean your skin!

Washing your face every night is the best way to remove pollution so less of it penetrates your skin.

Creamy cleansers. They don't dry out skin like foaming cleansers or bar soaps, but they also don't remove nanoparticles of pollution as well. "You can make hydrating cleansers more effective by using them with a brush," says cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson of Beautystat.com. Try a Clarisonic brush or the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush. (I have the Clarisonic Mia III, and am absolutely in LOVE!)

Water-free cleansers. Face wipes and micellar cleansers sweep away dirt without water, which is nice when you're too lazy to drag yourself to the sink. They're good in a pinch or in the country, but don't rely on these if you live in a city where pollution is high. You need soap and water. The exception: exfoliating wipes, which remove more grime with acids, says Jeannette Graf a dermatologist in Great Neck, New York. They're too harsh to use every night, so save them for days when you're beyond tired.
