Spring Social Save the Date
The Bankruptcy Section is pleased to join the Litigation
and Public Interest Law Sections for a Spring Social to
be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6-8:00PM
at Second Self Beer Company, 1317 Logan Circle NW,
Atlanta, GA. Online registration is available at www.
atlantabar.org. Save the Date for the Bankruptcy Section CLE and
David Pollard Award Luncheon to be held on Thurs-
day, May 11, 2017 at the Capital City Club. The CLE
program will feature presentations on student loan
dischargeability, recent issues under §§523 & 727, and
the chapter 13 model plan for the Northern District
of Georgia. The David Pollard Award is
given annually to “A member of the Atlanta
Bar Association who best exemplifies the
highest standards of professionalism and
ethics in the bankruptcy practice.” This
year’s recipient is Grant T. Stein of Alston
& Bird, LLP. Mr. Stein will join an esteemed
group of former recipients that include
Chief Judge C. Ray Mullins, Judges Paul
W. Bonapfel and Mary Grace Diehl, Karen
Fagin White, and James A. Pardo, Jr. The
first recipient of the Pollard Award was the
Hon. W. Homer Drake, Jr., for whom Mr.
Stein served as a law clerk. Additional in-
