2016 Gwen Slade Regatta
Punchy, shifty southerly breezes and
patchy rain saw seven Etchells compete
on Saturday 23 April in three windward/
leeward sprint races for the Gwen Slade
Ladies Etchells trophy.
The Gwen Slade regatta is a one design,
Etchells regatta with women at the helm
of each boat. The regatta started in 1981
by Russell Slade in honour of his wife
Gwen, and to encourage women sailors.
This year, Annie Taylor and her team,
Peter Gray (owner), Trevor Hannah,
Jason Antill sailing in Arlotta, sailed with
precision in the challenging conditions to
win two out of the three races to take out
the 2016 Gwen Slad
