Club Notices Boatyard Notice If you are wanting your boat ready in time for Christmas and those all-important summer holidays it’s highly recommended to book as soon as possible as there are only nine spots available in the last week of December which are all being held for Members. To ensure there are no delays to your summer plans. For more information call Monique on 9998 3751 or email [email protected] Jack Turns 90 Life Member, Jack Gale will be turning 90 this month and to celebrate, the Club will be hosting a small party after sailing on Saturday 22 October with cake. All are invited for a toast to Jack. Billets for Club Events Can you Billet a visiting team? Preparation for this year’s event is well underway with 12 youth teams confirmed to compete this year which include eight international teams from NZL, USA, Netherlands. Be it on a boat or a spare room. The regatta commences on 16-20 November with teams arriving from the 14th. Contact the Sailing Office if you can assist 02 9998 3700. Dogs at the Club All Members and Visitors are reminded that according to the Club By Laws if you bring your dog onto the Club grounds they need to be on a leash, and you must stay with your dog at all times. Please be aware that a case has just settled out of court between the dog owner and a person who was bitten by their unattended, leashed and secured dog. Unveiling of the Club Sculpture The Club will officially unveil its new welcoming sculpture Saturday 15 October. To celebrate this milestone in the Club’s history there will be an unveiling ceremony to take place after racing on the 15 October, post racing at around 4pm. The Club sculpture has taken over 6 months to create for marine artist, John Wolfe, however, such a task has been an honour to produce the Club’s Sesquicentennial sculpture . “It is an honour to be commissioned by RPAYC to produce the design and finished sculpture for the Club’s 150th Anniversary” Said John Wolfe. “The club has a rich history of racing and that’s what inspired this piece.” He added. Image below is the base of which the sculpture will stand at the front entrance of the Club.
