Cruising News Cruising Update Last month’s cruises proved challenging with strong winds prevailing but we managed to enjoy a long weekend at Bobbin Head and an overnight stay at Refuge Bay. October First Friday saw 143 people enjoy a fantastic presentation from Chris and Jess Bray on their adventures sailing the Northwest Passage. Sesquicentenary Clarence River Cruise This cruise heads off mid October led by Jim and Clem Cormack and promises to be an enjoyable cruise of about a month with a week on the Clarence. We hope the jacarandas will be in full bloom! We wish fair winds and good sailing to all those participating. First Friday 4th November Neil Driscoll will bring everybody up to date with everything cruising couples and crews need to know about the latest in safety, followed by a Q & A session. MOB demonstration Saturday 5th November at 9.30 on the club work Cruising Calendar berth. This is aimed specifically at cruising with two people on-board and will be followed by a cruise to Jerusalem Bay were we can practise what we have learnt. Sat/Sun 19/20 November - Cruise to Dangar Island – The format for this weekend will be in the Cruising Newsletter soon. Just put it in your diary! Christmas Cruise Newcastle and Lake Macquarie 28 Dec to 8 Jan NYE will be in the Lake and the Swansea channel is to be dredged before Christmas. We will be seeking expressions of interest shortly so we can make appropriate bookings. Members are reminded to fly their Club burgee at all Club on water cruising events. A burgee is available for purchase at Reception.
