RPAYC Members cover the field at the Etchells Australian National Championship

RPAYC was extremely well represented at the recent Etchells Australian National Championship which was hosted by RPAYC and sailed off Palm Beach January 12 th through 15 th , 2017 . Many of Australia ’ s top sailors were sailing in the Etchells Nationals , including Etchells World Champions , Olympians , America ’ s Cup veterans , and Volvo Ocean Race veterans . Several sailors from RPAYC ’ s Hall of Fame were also competing including Iain Murray , Steve McConaghy , Cameron Miles , Anthony Merrington and Peter Merrington . Special mention to Malcolm Parker and his Youth Development crew , who , without any prior Etchells training were able to handle the variable conditions to finish a respectable 28th .
