About the Work
The Restaurateur wants big things, but first, all he
wants is to finish making this dosa.
The Restaurateur is part of the Jackson Heights
Trilogy (Theatre 167, published by Indie Theatre Now),
a series of plays about diverse Jackson Heights,
Queens, where 167 languages are spoken. Les has
written for all three parts of the trilogy. Directed by Ari
Laura Kreith and originally performed by Rajesh Bose.
About Leslie
Selected productions: Theatre 167, Jackson Rep,
Bates College, Artistic New Directions, and Brooklyn
Playwrights Collective. Playscripts, Inc. published
his play Cyrano de Bergen County, New Jersey. His
play To the Orchard received the 2007 Foundation
for Jewish Culture New Theatre Project award. Les
has written for American Theatre Magazine and
offoffonline.com and is assistant professor of creative
