photo series:
consuming
Georgina

We are so often presented with a
photograph of a meticulously arranged
dish, an idealistic portrait of what we are
about to consume, but not the dish when
it is consumed in perhaps its most honest
form. For that reason, I
wanted to photograph
the dish in the
process of becoming
a consumed one.
Focusing on the vast
and subtle variations
of textures and shape
that can only be created
through the action
of bringing something to your mouth,
the images aim to cast an affectionate
farewell to the physical foodstuffs, but also
to preserve the memory of the meal, the
snack, or a secret moment of weakness.
