Programs and camps offer summer fun
From archery to log rolling , there ’ s an activity for every interest and age found in programs and camps offered each summer around Lake Minnetonka . Community Education Minnetonka Community Education and Wayzata Community Education provide an abundance of options , including youth classes and camps , for summertime excitement .
With locations scattered throughout the Excelsior , Minnetonka and Wayzata communities , summer programs offer youth and adult recreation and education options to hone a skill or pick up a new hobby , whether it ’ s tennis , gymnastics or learning how to garden .

Summer at Blake The mission of Summer at Blake is to provide students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade an engaging , challenging and caring environment for summer growth and youth development .
The program offers a wide array of arts , academics , sports and day camp opportunities that encourage a love of learning , positive relationship-building , safe risk-taking and character development .
Classes and camps are open to all and include activities such as archery , chess , drama , cake decorating , engineering , survival skills , arts and crafts and fitness .
In addition , Blake ’ s Camp Acoma day camp has brought together children from across the Twin Cities for more than 50 years . Campers engage in the arts and athletics while developing curiosity , creativity and positive risk-taking skills .

Course offerings at the two sailing schools include summer camps and programs for children as young as age 5 and adults . Adaptive sailing and family instruction are also among the many options available . Once a sailor has learned the basics , they can sign up for a learn-to-race program and then consider joining a race team .
