Welcome Home…From our Family
to Yours
With weather like we have
just experienced, a winter
without shoveling snow sounds
very appealing. If you are
considering downsizing, there
is no need to leave the city you
love. You’ll find a wonderful new
home at Copperfield Hill.
Copperfield Hill is located at
4200 40th Avenue North, just
off Bottineau Boulevard. It first
opened its doors in 1986 and
has been serving adults 55 and
up for 33 years. This vibrant
community is home to more
than 200 residents and offers
a wide range of care options
that fit different financial needs.
“The beauty of our community
is the flexibility for individuals
to move in independently and
as their needs change, add
services that allow them to age
in place,” said Charlotte Hoes,
Community Liaison.
Copperfield Hill’s History
The Farr family, which
still owns and operates the
community, originally built
Copperfield
Hill
for
the
founder’s mother, Elva, a widow
living on her own. “The more
time passed after my father’s
death, the more I called mom to
see how she was and the more I
worried,” said Elva’s son, Darrel
Farr.
“Her living on her own, I knew
was causing my very outgoing
of facilities both inside and
out. On site services include
transportation, pastoral care,
podiatry, audiology and even a
local chiropractor who makes
visits weekly. “We are always

mother, to become lonely and
her personal care was slipping.
I knew I had to do something
to reverse this downward trend
in her life. Elva Farr was one of
the original residents when the
building opened. She enjoyed
living there for fourteen years.
Today
the
community
features independent living and
assisted living apartments, as
well as memory care. Although

particular needs of residents,”
said Todd Klein, Executive
Director of Copperfield Hill.
One thing that won’t change
is Copperfield’s commitment to
the community. “Robbinsdale
is a fantastic city with a small
town feel and Copperfield
Hill fits in with what that
is. Copperfield Hill is family.
We are a family owned and
operated business proud to be
serving seniors. Rest assured
that is not going to change. A
consistent team of caregivers
with many employees who have
devoted long careers here, is at
the heart of our dedication to
excellent service,” said Klein.
As an anchor in Robbinsdale,
with a large employee and
resident base, Copperfield Hill
is an active member in the
business community. Being a
solid and consistent resource for
Robbinsdale and surrounding
communities is in the fore
front. Participation with the
Robbinsdale Senior Commission,
Chamber of Commerce, Friendly
Robins Senior Group, as well as,
the Bird Town Half Marathon
and Whiz Bang Days are ways
Copperfield stays connected.
Striving to always be a
communityresource,Copperfield
Hill and Robbinsdale United
Church of Christ host a monthly
social event aimed at bringing
people together. The New
Leisure Age is held the second
Thursday of the month from
11:00 am to 1:30 pm at RUCC.
The program includes: cards
and games, a light lunch and
entertainment. It helps provide
social engagement for local
seniors. “Not only is enjoying a
social activity fun, it is key to
preventing isolation which can
lead to depression,” said Hoes.
In 2019, for the 9th year
in a row, Copperfield Hill was
recognized with the Sun Post’s
Readers’ Choice Award for
“Best Retirement Community”.
