Washburn-McReavy Funeral, Cemeteries & Cremation Services
TRUST EARNED SINCE 1857 | washburn-mcreavy.com
Washburn-McReavy was serving
families before Minnesota
became a state. It started in 1857
as a furniture and undertaking
company – not uncommon at
that time – and by 1917, founder
William P. Washburn had sold
the furniture portion and was
in business as the Washburn
Undertaking Company.
He later invited his nephew,
Donald R. McReavy, to join the
business, and today’s Washburn-
McReavy was born. Now with 16
funeral chapels, cemeteries and
other facilities in Minneapolis,
Edina, Bloomington, Eden
Prairie, Hopkins, Robbinsdale,
Crystal, Columbia Heights,
New Brighton, Blaine and Coon
Rapids, it is the oldest and largest
independent funeral establishment
in Minnesota.
In 2017, William L. McReavy
(Bill Sr.), his wife, Kathleen
(Kay), and two of their four
children, William Washburn
McReavy (Bill Jr.) and Cyndi
McReavy-Seitz, own what is now
a fifth-generation family business
that prides itself on serving
families during difficult times,
including coordinating the details
pertaining to funeral, cremation,
and cemetery arrangements.
Features such as reception areas
at many of its chapels allow
Washburn-McReavy to offer
unique, personalized service.
Families can plan services in
advance and have the peace of
mind their wishes will be met
fully and in a dignified manner.
They also may prepay at
today’s prices.
Washburn-McReavy continues
to build on the trust it has earned
for 161 years – earned by doing
business based on a simple
notion: “Our Family Serving
Your Family.”
