here are two officers at the College, providing advice
and support to students and staff across every campus.
Cara Durnie has been in her Addictions Liaison Officer post since
May. It’s a position that’s been jointly created by Ayrshire College and
NHS Ayrshire & Arran to help anyone who wants to discuss substance
misuse issues, such as alcohol or drugs.

Even if it’s not yourself that’s personally struggling with these issues,
you can approach Cara for support. She offers guidance on the dangers
of drug and alcohol use and spotting the signs of addiction in others.
Another key part of her role will be to challenge the myths surrounding
so-called ‘legal highs’.
