STUDENT FUNDRAISING
We raised an incredible
£1,591.05 for Children in
Need after a week filled
with fun activities across the
campuses.
Early Years students set up a
face-painting stall and organised
‘Onesie Day’. The Student
Association put on a number of
challenges for staff and students,
including a blindfolded ‘Guess the
Food’ challenge, and students at
the Townholm campus held a staff
versus students volleyball match –
with a twist. All the players had to
dress up as superheroes!
20
Hospitality students raised £349.09
with a take-away lunch service,
serving the food they had prepared.

Elsewhere, business student Louise
McKenzie inspired a group of her
classmates to raise money for the
charity by trekking Spain’s Sierra
Nevada Mountains!
Louise took on the five-day
challenge on 6th October - hiking
for six to eight hours a day. Friends
from her class Heather Caldwell,
Emma Garrick, Sarah MacFarlane,
Bobby McManus and Mark
Wilson all helped raise sponsorship
money.
The group then held a charity event
involving a raffle and cupcake sale,
where a staggering 204 cupcakes
were sold.
Altogether they raised £445.30
including donations, with £172
coming from raffle ticket sales
where local businesses had
volunteered prizes.
