understanding of pretty much every sport
going. I have now started university at
SRUC.
for experience, I’m picking up skills that
cross over. Once I get my degree, I’m
looking towards doing my TQFE [Teaching
Qualification in Further Education], if that
doesn’t work out I’m looking at sports
development – as opposed to coaching.
My college course was a great thing
especially for anyone that has a passion for
sport who doesn’t feel they’re going in the
right direction. There’s no better place to
start.
I’ve volunteered a lot too – whenever I
had the opportunity. I have children, so I
had to juggle home life, work, studying
at the same time but whenever I had the
chance I did some volunteering.
I’d like to thank, not just the lecturers but
the support staff as well. Without them,
a lot more students would probably drop
out. I enjoyed my time at college and if I
could do it again I would.”
I’m attached to Irvine Sports Club,
coaching cricket over the summer to kids
up to the age of 10, and I do tennis as
well when I’m there.
