RAISING ASPIRATIONS / “ understanding of pretty much every sport going. I have now started university at SRUC. for experience, I’m picking up skills that cross over. Once I get my degree, I’m looking towards doing my TQFE [Teaching Qualification in Further Education], if that doesn’t work out I’m looking at sports development – as opposed to coaching. My college course was a great thing especially for anyone that has a passion for sport who doesn’t feel they’re going in the right direction. There’s no better place to start. I’ve volunteered a lot too – whenever I had the opportunity. I have children, so I had to juggle home life, work, studying at the same time but whenever I had the chance I did some volunteering. I’d like to thank, not just the lecturers but the support staff as well. Without them, a lot more students would probably drop out. I enjoyed my time at college and if I could do it again I would.” I’m attached to Irvine Sports Club, coaching cricket over the summer to kids up to the age of 10, and I do tennis as well when I’m there.
