COLLEGE MEMBERS TAKE PART IN
DRAGON BOAT RACE
STAFF AND STUDENTS AT

CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
TEAMED UP WITH NINE
OF THE ROYAL NATIONAL
INSTITUTE OF BLIND
PEOPLE (RNIB) VOLUNTEERS
AS THEY TOOK PART IN
IRVINE’S ANNUAL DRAGON
BOAT RACE.
The eight-person strong
college team were led by
RNIB’s fundraising manager
Elma Magowan and came
close in the first of their

three races – finishing in a
respectable third place just
two seconds shy of the first
placed boat!

“We came together and
bonded very well, raising
money for RNIB in the
process. We look forward to
taking part in the race again
next year and raising money
for such a worthwhile cause.”
The Ayrshire College team
will be working with the RNIB
group in October, after signing
up for the RNIB Glow Neon 3k
Fun Run at Ayr’s Dam Park.
