IN HIS OWN WORDS...
START HERE,
GO ANYWHERE...
“When I left school after fifth year I
started the next day in an apprenticeship
in sign fabrication and erection.
“I finished my apprenticeship after four years and
stayed with the company for another two years.
“After this I joined the infantry - serving until my
medical discharge in September 2006. I went back to
signage once my leg was healed; but at this point I
met my wife and knew I had to better myself.

“So I decided to return to education.
“I wanted to do aeronautical engineering mainly
due to my time in the army where I was getting
transported and dropped in various locations via
Chinook and C-130 Hercules aircraft. After a bit of
research, my interest in understanding the minutest
levels of detail took over and I knew I had to do this
course.
“At the moment I’m an MMS (Machine Maintenance
and Servicing) Technician for Solar Turbines which is
a subsidiary company of Caterpillar.
