KILWINNING CAMPUS HIGHLIGHTS
CoderDojo
Back in November, the
Kilwinning campus became
the first place in Ayrshire
that kids could learn how to
code through CoderDojo –
part of a global network of
free computing coding clubs
for young people - and the
event has gone from strength
to strength with sessions in
Kilwinning, Kilmarnock, Irvine
and now Ayr.
A special mention must go out to
Charlie Muirhead, HNC Games
student at Kilwinning, who is a
STEMNet mentor and Russell
Anderson, another Kilwinning
student who is a games developer.
They have been helping the
youngsters to improve their
coding skills.
Having Charlie and Russell there
has been a great boost to the kids
as they have been able to talk
them through the importance of
what they are doing while making
it a fun experience for them.
“The event has gone
from strength
to strength,
it has been a great
boost to the kids.”
