Students promote good health DRIVING WORKSHOPS DELIVERED POLICE SCOTLAND DELIVERED A NEW DRIVER SCHEME TO IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY WITH YOUNG OR NEW DRIVERS. first two years of driving, mainly due to inexperience, and the inability to identify and deal with hazards. The presentations were delivered to us by Police Scotland as part of Road Safety Day. The workshops supplemented the skills taught by driving instructors by providing a solid reminder of the individual responsibilities that the driver has - both for themselves and for other road users. Drivers between the ages of 17 and 25 are more likely to be involved in a collision in their A KILWINNING CLASS HAS BEEN PASSING ON HEALTH TIPS TO STAFF AND STUDENTS. The Access to Nursing students promoted healthy eating, safe alcohol consumption, safe sexual health, and the prevention of infection at pop-up stalls within the foyer of the campus. Student Pauline Brady said “We knew this was the first time an activity like this has been done by students and we all wanted it to go well. All four stalls were interactive and we had a great response from everyone who visited them. “The class felt the whole activity went really well and the support from our class members and lecturers was fantastic. I think I can safely say it's been a proud day for all of us!” Bartenders launch hospitality careers Thirteen students took part in a six-week Ayrshire Bartender course and celebrated their success with industry partners, family and friends at the Taste restaurant at the Ayr Campus. This was the 11th Bartender programme since November 2015. Students had the opportunity to acquire new skills, gain seven nationally recognised qualifications, join bars and restaurants for work experience, and learn from industry experts.
