Meet OUR apprentices
Ayrshire College hired two Modern Apprentices over the summer !
Catriona Cook is 22 years old and joins as a Digital Marketing
Apprentice after spells working in Australia , Spain and Thailand .
Declan Mitchell is also 22 years old and joins on an ICT Apprenticeship as a previous student at the College .

Catriona said : “ I ’ m looking forward to working with the Ayrshire College Foundation on various projects . I ’ m in the process of setting up a new website for them and running their social media accounts .
“ I jumped at the opportunity of an apprenticeship as I believe they can provide great opportunities , especially for someone like me who wants to gain qualifications while still working , instead of going to college or university .”
“ Digital Marketing is an area which is growing rapidly , so I feel really lucky to have got this job .”
Although Catriona has had little experience of marketing up until this point , she joins the team with a wealth of life experience .
She said : “ Immediately after leaving school , I worked in the family business , which is a busy seaside café . After a year there , I decided to pack up and move to Spain , securing a summer job in a Scottish bar in Ibiza !”
A big part of Catriona ’ s remit will be to give a bigger online presence to the Ayrshire College Foundation – which provides financial support for projects and activities carried out and supported by Ayrshire College .
“ I worked there for two seasons , returning home during winter and working in the café . After that , I decided to go travelling so I went to Thailand . “
“ I volunteered in a school , teaching English and I lived with a Thai family in a small village in
