PROMOTIONAL FEATURE
SOUTH AYRSHIRE BEFRIENDING PROJECT
IS CELEBRATING ITS
20TH ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR!
South Ayrshire Befriending
Project (SABP) is a small locally
run charity based in Ayr, which
was established in 1996 and
supports vulnerable young
people across South Ayrshire
(aged 8 – 18). The charity
provides them with one-toone befriending relationships,
helping to build confidence
and self-esteem and access
activities in the community or
develop a particular interest.
This summer has been a busy
time at SABP for both their
young people and volunteers.
Lots of exciting activities
took place throughout the
summer ranging from helping
out at a local food bank to
their monthly group event at
The Ark. They also held their
annual big summer bash at
Loudoun Leisure Centre!
The Project is now supporting
more young people than
ever before and this would
not be possible without
volunteers, whose support
and commitment to the young
people is invaluable. If you
would like to give something
back to the community and
can spare 2-3 hours once a
fortnight please get in touch
with SABP.

Volunteers with SABP have a
lot of fun and gain satisfaction
from sharing their time and
experience with someone
who needs them. We
offer training programmes
throughout the year and cover
all expenses. So, if you have
the time on your hands why
not consider becoming a
volunteer befriender? South
Ayrshire Befriending Project
is having an Open Day on
Friday 4th November 12-4pm
at their office when anyone
can drop by to find out more
information.
