Stray Thoughts Summer 2016 Hearty Thanks! The 6th grade class at The Religious School of Congregation Etz Chaim raised $100 and donated it to the shelter. Ada Gilmartin of Downers Grove turned 9 and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for her. She collected food, supplies, toys and money. Ada Gilmartin Girl Scout Troop 51027 of Glen Ellyn raised $245 and donated it to the humane society. Heartland Business Systems of Lisle did a supply drive and collected food, blankets, quilts, paper towels, flea collars and other supplies to the shelter. 6th grade class, RSCEC Ashley Putz of Elmhurst turned 9 and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for her. She collected food, supplies, $40and $65 in gift cards. Ashley Putz Addison Liszka, Jennifer Liszka and Ava LaBianco had a lemonade stand and used the money they raised to buy dog and cat food for the shelter. The Shultis family had a bake sale and donated the proceeds of $18 to the humane society. Addison and Ava Employees from AT&T Business – Corporate Solutions for helping us unload all of the flowers for our annual Petals for Pets Plant Sale. AT&T employees The members of Quilters Quest collected food, supplies and $357 and donated it to the humane society. Michael and Daniel Weber of Clarendon Hills donated money to the shelter. Advocate Health Center employees in Oak Brook collected food and supplies and donated them to the shelter. Michael & Daniel Weber Corbett Monahan of Naperville had a birthday and asked for donations for the shelter instead of gifts for him. He collected various items from our wish list. Corbett Monahan The Burr Ridge Village Center donated the proceeds of $560 from their Sip, Shop & Save event to the shelter. Loni Howard of Howard Productions, LLC donated tons of cat and dog food to the humane society. Employees from MidwestHR, LLC for helping us unload all of the flowers for our annual Petals for Pets Plant Sale. The Religious Education departments at The Unitarian Church of Hinsdale and DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church both had special collections and projects to benefit the humane society. They donated $394 to the shelter. MidwestHR, LLC employees Alyssa Deschamp and Isabella Lapacek of Downers Grove donated over $277 to the shelter. Dr. Grover and his family held an Easter Egg Hunt raffle and donated the proceeds of $35 to the shelter. The Hope Club at Pierce Downer School in Downers Grove had a Fun Fair and donated the proceeds of $300 to the shelter.
