Stray Thoughts Spring 2016 Hearty Thanks! The students at Lakeview Junior High in Downers Grove held an after school fundraiser and donated food, supplies, toys, treats and $150.00. The students at St. James the Apostle Church in Glen Ellyn collected donations for the shelter during Catholic Schools Week. They donated food, supplies, toys, litter and $66.75. Matthew Bolognia of Darien turned 11 and asked for donations for the shelters instead of gifts for him. He donated dog food and toys. The employees at Insight Direct USA, Inc. did a volunteer day at the shelter. They also collected food and supply donations. Maggie Kachmarik of LaGrange asked for gifts for the shelter instead of for her during the Christmas holiday. She donated cat food and dog toys. Avant at the Arboretum held a collection drive for the shelter. They donated food, supplies and $75. Kate Kocoras and Emma Youssef held a lemonade stand and donated the proceeds to the shelter. They also donated some of the yummy cookies they made! The Early Act Club at Gurrie Middle School in LaGrange held a fundraiser and sold candy grams and donated the proceeds of $114.75 to the shelter. 8 The SASED group of Westmont sold dog treats and donated the proceeds of $311 to the shelter.
