E
dinburgh Napier is an inspiring and innovative
university; it has energy, passion, drive and
ambition, characteristics that attracted me
to becoming Principal in 2013. With a reputation
for the diversity of our student community, the
employability of our graduates, our international
reach and strong links to business through research
and innovation, we have agreed a new strategy to
build on our success to date. We are excited by our
potential and are keen to develop further and faster.
We are a University deeply
connected to our communities and
in tune with our time.
Strategy 2020 describes a journey that builds
on our achievements. Our commitment to grow
our academic reputation, deliver an excellent
personalised student experience and to serve
the appetite for knowledge and innovation in
all corners of society underpins our ambition.
We are a University deeply connected to our
communities and in tune with our time.
We relish challenge and both prepare and inspire
our students to thrive in the complex environments
they will encounter in their lives, developing skills
and nourishing confidence. We support each other as
researchers, scholars and professional practitioners
with a passion for innovation, adaptability and
cultural awareness.
No doubt in the future my successors will reflect
on the University journey in the years leading up to
2020 and I hope that when they do they will talk
enthusiastically about the values that guided us, the
bold, innovative and creative steps that we took, the
knowledge we created and the people we nurtured.
