Steel Notes Magazine October 2016 will never die, that I am pretty optimistic about. I have to say, I wasn’t a professional musician yet when millions of albums were sold and musicians made a lot of money. I started playing music when the market was already going through a crisis, but I never really cared much. I decided music was my way, and that was it. I didn’t want to get discouraged by listening to all the people that kept saying that the music business was declining. Again, if you really want something, you can get it, no matter what. - My parents and my brother Antonio for sure. Also, my old band, the Clairvoyants and our manager Fulvio Trinca Colonel. Thanks to them I ended up playing with Blaze Bayley and Doro. I feel so lucky for having such caring and supportive people on my side. - Can you describe your first concert? What about the best ever and the worst ever? A crazy anecdote ? - Excluding the first time I played guitar in public when I was 10, my first real concert was when I was 13 or 14. It was in an oratory, where at the time a lot of different bands used to play. I played with two bands that night: with the first band, thrash metal, I was playing the guitar, while with the second band, hard rock, I was playing drums! - What about current and upcoming projects? - Doro tour. We are promoting the release of the new live DVD that celebrates the 30-year anniversary of the career of Doro Pesch. At the same time I am recording my second solo album. The first single and its video will be released soon. - What is it that you don’t like in the music business and what keeps fascinating you? - There’s really nothing I don’t like about this world. As for what keeps me entertained and excited, it’s mainly the core work of a professional musician: going on tour, creating new songs, and travelling. Photo by Marco Vukovic - Let’s talk about music and business. Is there still room for personal creativity or is it mostly about commerciability? - Sure there is. Social networks definitely help with exposing personal creations and reaching audiences. It’s true, though, that to get to the real success, a lot of connections, investments and opportunites are needed, and those are pretty rare. - 90 Who are the people in your life that you owe a lot to? The ones that supported you and helped you become who you are today. Steel Notes Magazine www.steelnotesmagazine.com
