Steel Notes Magazine www.steelnotesmagazine.com Cunning Man Trap’s “Red” This band from Cologne, Germany has a hardcore sound and vocal style reminiscent of the days of Helloween and Bonfire, this is a high energy aggressive number. Cunning Man Trap’s version of “What Happens in Fight Club” may not be for the faint of heart but it is certainly for the hard rock fan. Music Video Director: Jorg Tochtenhagen Website: www.cunningmantrap.com OddsLane with “Take It Slow” This St. Louis band has a serious groove. The more I listen to them, the more I like this song which starts off with a Red Hot Chilli Pepper vibe. Shot entirely in a recording studio, the band’s well made video captures their jazzy, blues essence. A smooth bass line adds to the richness of the song. Raw, edgy, powerhouse vocals and a first rate video produced by Industrialism Films; this is a well captured representation of this metal Madame. Madame Mayhem transforms herself into the “Monster” we often say we will never become but sometimes do. She definitely has a new fan here. I am looking forward to hearing more and would love to catch her live. Music Video Director: Industrialism Films Website: www.madamemayhem.com Teen vocalist Kyla Imani is a breath of fresh air among an assortment young singers projecting negative imagery. Her smile is infectious and her vocals sweet. It has been many years since I have heard a teen look forward to sleepovers and listening to records. This young lady is a positive role model and hopefully we will be hearing a lot more from her. Kyla is a very talented young lady.
