Remorse ”, “ Ride The Lightning ”, “ Blackened ” and many more . It really was so much fun . In our town , we quickly became a band people wanted to go see . In a period where cover bands were not a normal thing , we became for a year the Official Tribute Band of the Four Horsemen in our country , sharing the throne with the Tuscany band “ Metal Militia ”. Over time , however , we realized we didn ’ t want to be a simple tribute band . Soon we moved on and started to produce our own music . Our creativity was driven by our heart , or rather , our anger . Because we all know that the speed , intensity , and dark sound of heavy metal come from our inner self that wants to scream and rebel against the world as it is . “ Spit out the bone ”, Metallica would say today . I still remember how to play all
Metallica songs , despite the fact that the last time I actually played them live in concert was probably 16 years ago . This is why Metallica will always be in my heart . They turned on my needto-play button , and I will always be thankful to them . But Metallica were important also because they showed me how a strong and tight a band should be . showed everybody that they were a band despite problems , issues , fights . Many times during the 90 ’ s people talked about Metallica ’ s betrayal to the fans . With “ Load ” I started wondering where the speed was , where the anger could be heard . With “ Reload ” things didn ’ t change , and when I saw them live the first time in 1999 it was during the years of “ Garage re-revisited ”. The great thing , though , is that that night they played all their best songs . I particularly loved
“ Fight fire with fire ”, that was a pretty memorable moment . I also had the chance to see them live at the Madison Square Garden in New York . They were touring for “ Death Magnetic ” in 2009 . They played “ Dyers eve ”. As a drummer , I was simply ecstatic , it was awesome .
Growing up , things started to make sense . I started to see what their philosophy was all about . People say that the “ Black album ” was their peak record , and things went downhill from there . I actually think the opposite is true . Metallica showed the world what it means to stay united and grow as a band . They went through many phases of their lives , and music
