But as every peak has a valley, the heaven that is near will only last as long as the king’s sigh. There was a sneaking suspicion in the king’s mind that all would not remain as peaceful as it had been, a feeling that had only intensified since the news of the death at Suscraw Farm had been brought to his attention. Only the continued monitoring of the machine and the actions of the people would ensure that his plan would remain in place.

As long as the society was under the untroubled influence of the GoodMachine, nothing could possibly prevent him from achieving his goals for the kingdom.
