This April, the Canada Space and
Aviation Museum will be the gathering
place for close to 600 budding writers and
artists who have signed up to work with
some of Canada’s finest authors and
illustrators of children’s books. Now in its
25th year, the annual MASC Young
Authors and Illustrators Conference
promises a day of inspiration,
creativity and fun!
The day is packed with activities
guaranteed to get the creative juices
flowing: author presentations and
readings; hands-on creative workshops;
and a book fair and autograph session.
MASC is proud to thank Eagle High
Altitude Staffing, the Canada Aviation
and Space Museum and the Canada
Council for the Arts for their ongoing
support and commitment to this
program. The conference takes place on
April 19, 20 and 21st.
The award winning line-up of
workshop presenters include:
(Authors), Karen Krossing,
Jessica Scott Kerrin, Alan
Silberberg, Kate Jaimet and
Joel Sutherland and (Illustrators)
Marie-Louise Gay, Patricia Storms
and Kevin Sylvester. Students in grades
four to eight will spend a day learning
valuable tips of the trade from these
professionals, while honing their
individual skills.

Event Sponsor:
“It has been absolutely incredible to attend the
MASC workshops today! All the authors and
illustrators were fantastic and I know that many
kids (including myself) will come back
remembering that this was the reason they’re a
writer 20 years later.”
