We are delighted to be hosting the 18th annual
MASC Arts Awards Gala Evening on May 19th at
Fisher Park School, 250 Holland Avenue.
We will be celebrating creative young people in grades
6 to 8, who have been nominated by their teachers for
their passion for the arts. Winners will receive
scholarships and have the opportunity to study at the
Ottawa School of Art, the Ottawa Children’s Theatre,
the School of Dance, the Bluesfest School of Music
and Art, or will be mentored by a local author.
In addition to the presentation of the MASC Arts Awards,
we will acknowledge all our Honourable Mention winners,
and will offer the Jennifer Cayley Award (to a previous
MASC Arts Award recipient) and the Molly Ellens Award to a
young visual artist. MASC artist Luis Abanto, of Colores
Andinos, will be the Honourary Patron of the 2016 MASC Arts
Awards. He will meet with the students and will play an integral
part in our gala, including what we know will be a delightful
Latin American musical performance! Following the formal part
of the evening we will host a reception with refreshments and
door prizes. All students will leave with prize packages.
