I had wanted to move away from the East Coast for years so when I got an opportunity to move my weight loss business

to Dallas , Texas , I immediately started packing and saying my goodbyes . It wasn ’ t long before new friends began inviting me along to their favorite restaurants . We chatted over fried chicken , chili , and cupcakes . With the stress of the move paired with the anxiety of feeling like the new girl in school – I was reminded of just how easy it is to overeat . They don ’ t call it comfort food for nothing ! Most people who use food to cope with ‘ life ’ struggle with their weight , which is why I always say when your mind isn ’ t right , you can ’ t keep your body tight .

“ 3 easy breezy ways to get it right and get it tight so you can shine in your sweet summer dress .“

1 ) Use the Hunger Scale - This scale ranges from a negative 10 to a positive 10 . A -10 feels like you ’ re hungrier than ever ! A + 10 feels like you just finished an eating competition . At zero you feel ok … not hungry or full . Stay between a -2 and a 2 on the Scale . Your tummy will start to rumble around a -2 , that ’ s when it ’ s time to eat . Put the fork down around a + 2 , when you feel satisfied .
2 ) Drink Ice Cold Water – Your body will burn up to 50 calories every time you drink an 8 oz . glass of ice water . Ice water shocks your body and it reacts by working to warm it up , burning calories in the process . Plus , water will help keep you feeling full .

3 ) Substitute – Lighten up your favorite dishes with low calorie , sugar and fat alternatives . Switching from dark to light meat , fried to baked , and sugar to sugar-free are easy ways to save hundreds of calories without sacrificing savory flavor .
