Tell us a typical day for you and your family from sun up to sun down during your busy season .
Harvest season is probably the busiest time of the year for me . Between gathering crops , running 4 kids everywhere and making sure that I am at all of the football games , it gets kind of crazy !! We begin the day by getting everyone ready for school and work . I cook breakfast , make sure everybody is packed up and send the 3 oldest ones off to school . I then start hauling empty wagons to the field . Chris starts by plowing peanuts until lunch , then we get the pickers started by lunch . I keep all the wagons hauled to the mill , help mechanic if anything tears up , and pick up my youngest , Saylah , from school because the boys have football practice . The two younger kids have an after school babysitter so I can get back to the fields until the last peanut trailer is hauled in . I also rack hay if I get a break and help wrap it either at the end of the day or first thing the next morning if I need to . We generally start the day around 5:30 a . m . and end around 11 p . m .
What kind of farm do you own ? We own a diversified family farm . We grow peanuts , cotton , wheat and raise beef cattle .
