Social Business Earth (SBE) is an international consulting and advisory service organization based in Lugano, Switzerland, established to address and solve society’s most urgent problems through the creation of sustainable business models.
SBE’s goal is to develop new social businesses that create social and environmental impact on a local and global level, providing capacity building and consulting to support stakeholders in the private, public and social sector who wish to launch a social business. SBE is a social business itself and was established as the first company of social utility that does not distribute dividends in Canton Ticino, Switzerland.
A social business is a company created to solve a social or environmental problem through a financially sustainable business model. In a social business all profits and dividends are reinvested in the company to maximize social impact. Investors can gradually recoup their initial capital without desiring any personal gain.
In the past few months, SBE has worked hard to launch an online Social Business Magazine. The Magazine has the objective to feature social businesses from all over the world, explaining the story behind the social entrepreneur who founded the socially or environmentally driven company.
In addition, the online Magazine highlights the current necessities of the social business (funding, equipment, consulting etc.), allowing it to gain visibility among potential investors and other organizations that have the chance to contribute to its success.
