Because I love my body , I now realize that it wasn ’ t that there was anything wrong with it other than the stigma associated with fatness .

“ I love my body because it is political . Because in a world where my fat means I ’ m lazy , ugly , unmotivated , unhealthy , a constant work in progress , saying I am enough , I am good , I am valuable is radical . I love my body because it makes everyone question their own fear of fat and seek to understand how that fear affects their life . I love my body because it allows me to experience unreserved , unapologetic joy . I lived for too long with the fear of bringing attention to my fat and therefore myself . I hid and I stopped experiencing all that life could offer me because I didn ’ t feel like I deserved it and I felt as if my body would affect my experience .”

“ Because I love my body , I now realize that it wasn ’ t that there was anything wrong with it other than the stigma associated with fatness . When I love my body , that stigma no longer rules my life and I ’ m able to experience the fullness of life and live in the moment without caring what other people may be thinking . I love my body because there really is no reason not to .” S
