Sin City Presents Magazine August 2016 Volume 3 Issue 8 - Page 77

Let’s start with your musical preferences, what music gets you excited?

TAILGUN music gets me most excited, because I get to play it up on stage and its music that I’ve helped create from nothing! Some of my other faves would be AC/DC, Junkyard, Airbourne, Seether, just to name a few. Whenever any of these bands come on I have the insane urge to crank them up! That's Great Rock-n-roll for ya!

What would you do if you knew there would be no way you could fail?

I would definitely take this music on the road and just see where it takes us! Except for the punching a clock every day, everything else I am fortunate enough to do off the clock is just my way of living out my dreams! So many people long for the chance to do what I do, (just as I did when I was young!), and I am so grateful to finally be living proof that dreams do come true!

Is being a lead guitarist in the band your dream gig or do you secretly also want to be the lead singer?

Being the lead guitarist in this band is definitely part of my dream gig, and no, I do not secretly desire to be the lead singer. Being a part of TAILGUN has allowed me to actually go beyond what my dreams were, and explore so many more ways to express my talents and creativity, which fortunately does include singing! I love it!

How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Making mistakes is just a part of being a live performer! We are an imperfect species! So, the only thing to do is play through them, and whatever happens, happens! That's Rock-n-roll! Up to now, I've always been able to catch back up and carry on, like nothing happened! One of the beauties of playing original music.......nobody seems to notice

Which musicians do you admire?

I really admire those musicians that have taken their talents and created the life they want to live, and been able to sustain themselves while living their dreams. To me, that is true freedom!

What is your greatest challenge?

The greatest challenge that I have ever known is how to make it to that point in my life where I feel like I am truly free. Free to live my destiny. I believe I am still getting there.

How would you describe yourself as a musician in one sentence?

I would describe myself as a very fortunate person who is allowed to express his creativity in such a way as to touch others musically, while constantly trying to learn new ways to do this. Music definitely reaches people right down to their souls, and I am grateful to be a part of that!

“I am living my dreams now, writing, performing, and recording original music with my best friends!”
