This month we take you behind the kit with Johnny Rude! He’s somewhat of a newcomer to Sin City having just joined our rock n roll family 4 ½ years ago. Currently you’ll find him behind the kit with the a KILLER new tribute band here in Las Vegas, "Purple" an STP Tribute that features the best of the Stone Temple Pilots and Scott Weiland. When he’s not behind the kit you’ll find him on LOADEDRADIO.COM. He and his business partner Scott Penfold are the co-creators of loaded radio and together they’ve grown the station into one of the biggest FM radio show’s and one of the most listened to online radio stations. They cater to the niches, “bringing the heavy” and deliver a really good mix of content that goes beyond the mainstream music.

Tell us a little bit about Johnny Rude….

I've been playing drums for a long time! I’ve played with Brass Knuckle Therapy, Salem Saints and the band Jesus Christ who were nominated by Kerrang Magazine as one the best metal bands of the 90s.

Wow what an honor that must have been! The 90’s was an eclectic decade in music with so many new genres evolving.

That was really cool, we received 5 “K’s” from Kerrang Magazine and had a tour over in Europe lined up with the The Almighty and Machine Head as we all came out at the same time.

Who are some of your influences?

All of the cool bands of the late 70s and early 80s...Van Halen, Kiss, Rush...Hard Rock and Progressive Rock.

What was the last original project you were involved with?

Salem Saints produced by Steve Albini out of Chicago at Electrical Audio, Steve has worked with everyone from Nirvana to Page and Plant.

You aren’t kiddin’ brother, I checked out his band roster it would be faster to list who he hasn’t worked with.

I’ll bet you have a million stories; do you have one you’d like to share with our readers today?

Here's one little story from a few years ago, as I have many...

The fashion industry is a $20 billion dollar industry netting a $1.8 billion in revenue annually in New York. With conventions like "Magic" drawing fashion savvy investors, designers and industry leaders to Las Vegas twice annually the fashion industry in Las Vegas is poised for growth.

The Las Vegas Fashion Design Council has positioned itself to be at the center of the local fashion industry with the solid leadership of David Tupaz Founder and Executive Director of the LVFDC.

“Las Vegas is the number one tourist destination in the world, and we offer the best in entertainment, dining, boutique shopping, resorts and gaming,” Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman says. “With all the glitz, glamour and neon of Las Vegas we are a natural fit for the fashion industry, and I’m very supportive of the ongoing efforts of uniquely talented individuals like David Tupaz and all those working to bring a fashion presence to Las Vegas.” said Cityl of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman

Tupaz having earned his credibility primarily in the entertainment industry dressing everyone from celebrities to high society socialites all over the World is the ideal candidate to spearhead this effort to expand the fashion industry in the entertainment capital of the world.

Fashion is the extension of our personalities. It dignifies our humanity just like art and music. I believe in capturing elegance; an allure of romantic feminism with a tailored twist. It speaks of a modern dignified grace. - David Tupaz

The LVFDC's business model includes educational and mentoring components which will aid in creating a local pipeline of talent resulting in sustainability for the fashion industry in Las Vegas. Having an organization with structured systems in place will aid in attracting industry extensions such as manufacturing, distribution, and additional retail opportunities to not only Las Vegas but to Nevada.

The LVFDC is a great example of opportunity and creativity coming together to create REAL solutions in a still struggling economy.

The LVFDC is a is a non profit 501-C3 organization supported by donations and public fundraising events including "Fashion Friday's" which takes place on the last Friday of each month 5:30-8:30pm at the Vegas Life TV Studio & Event Center. 5275 S Arville Street, Suite 112 Las Vegas, NV 89118.
