Signature Stories: Volume 14 | Page 4

AROUNDTHECENTER 1 There is so much to be a part of as Signature invites audiences to celebrate 25 years of Off-Broadway excellence with special events throughout the season. The first preview of every show this season will start with a 25th Anniversary Champagne Toast. Everyone is invited, so whether you have a ticket to the show or not, join us before the show to celebrate! We have also kicked off our new program of free events in The Pershing Square Signature Center called SigSocials. Our first event took place at the end of August and with the help of our friends at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ and Tito’s Vodka we were able to throw an end of summer BBQ. Stay tuned for the next SigSocial! And finally, don’t miss out on our Signature Voices video series, an original interview series featuring over 50 playwrights, directors, actors, and designers sharing personal memories of working on Signature productions over the past 25 years. With a new story every Friday, stay tuned to our website and social media to hear all of the stories these people have to share. (left): Audiences enjoying Signature Cocktail Hour. Gurney Launch 25th Anniversary Season Signature kicked off the 2015-16 25th Anniversary Season with two world premiere productions: John by Annie Baker and Love & Money by A.R. Gurney. We were thrilled to welcome Annie to the Center for her first Residency Five production, directed by Tony Award-winner (and former Signature intern) Sam Gold, and featuring Lois Smith, who returned to the Signature stage for the fifth time. The world premiere of Love & Money, a co-production with Westport Country Playhouse, welcomed back WCP’s Artistic Director Mark Lamos as director of Pete’s final production as a Residency One playwright at Signature. It has been an honor to have Pete in residence at Signature during his three productions over the last year, and we are delighted to have him as part of the Signature family. Thank you to all who joined us for the first shows of the 25th Anniversary Season – we’ll see you around the Center! 3 25,000 Gifts for our 25th Anniversary Season Count Me In!
