AROUNDTHECENTER
Signature continued its 2014-15 Season with exciting new works by Residency
Five Playwright Katori Hall and Legacy Playwright Sam Shepard. Based on
actual events, the World Premiere of Hall’s Our Lady of Kibeho chronicled the
miraculous apparition of the Virgin Mary in Kibeho, Rwanda in 1981,
posing challenging questions about faith. Shepard’s A Particle of Dread
(Oedipus Variations), produced in collaboration with Ireland’s renowned
Field Day Theatre Company, explored the Oedipus myth and the ways violence
is inherited from one generation to the next. Signature was thrilled to premiere
these powerful plays from two of America’s most distinctive voices.

BEYOND
Signature invites our audiences to engage with all
aspects of the production process through a series
of pre- and post-show conversations with our artists.
These free supplemental events give an in-depth look into
what it takes to bring a play to life, and allow audiences
a chance to further explore the ideas presented onstage.
Here, Signature looks back on some supplemental
programming highlights so far this season.

In post-show talkbacks,

the chance to ask A.R.
Gurney and the rest of
The Wayside Motor Inn
