In Angel Reapers, Clarke teamed up with playwright Alfred Uhry to bring text to the story of the group once known as the “Shaking Quakers.” Prior to heading into rehearsals, Clarke and Uhry chatted with Signature about their working relationship, and the many laughs they have along the way. Signature: How did the idea for Angel Reapers come about? MC: As you can see we’re very Shaker-like. Martha Clarke: He was drunk! AU: And that was ten years ago.
