PURPOSEFUL LCs $105,000 awarded to fund training for the leadership consultants (LCs) who travel to Sigma Kappa chapters to teach, train, educate and inspire collegiate members. The LCs made approximately 228 visits, covering 87% of our chapters. Throughout the year, 11 new chapters had a leadership consultant based with them. RLCs $135,000 Granted to Sorority $20,000 grant provided to support regional leadership conferences (RLCs). The 2016 RLCs were held in five locations with 1,625 collegiate executive council officers, social chairmen and advisory board supervisors attending the three-day experience. 86% of attendees indicated they learned new information and skills that will help them be effective leaders. “ ” Sexual Assault Awareness The regional leadership conference reminded me why I love being a part of Sigma Kappa and why I want to be a leader. RLC Attendee $10,000 grant for the Sorority to pilot a brand new set of sexual assault awareness resources including, a peer-led chapter workshop, an e-book available to all members, and high-level training for leadership consultants and NHQ staff. After the pilot, the program was rolled out to all chapters through a train-the-trainer session at the 87th national convention this summer. Through participation in the peer-led chapter workshop, Sigma Kappa members develop a better understanding of the reality of risk in their social environments. Members feel empowered to say or act when they feel they should and understand why misplacing blame is wrong and why a chapter culture of basic sensitivity is necessary.
