The film tells a story of a mother and daughter , who are Kurdish refugees living in Italy . During a hospital visit Fatma serves as a translator and an intermediary between her mom and the doctor . At one point the doctor decides to ask her to translate the diagnosis for her mom . The girl goes silent .
