was the assistant athletic director
at Stuart Hall School. Currently,
Dobbins has his National Strength
and Conditioning Association
(NSCA) Certified Strength and
Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
certification and is the director of
the Mountaineer Fitness Center &
Campus Recreation at Schreiner
University in Kerrville, Texas,
specializing in fitness, club sports,
intramural sports and outdoor
adventure programs.
Anna-Marie Hammond ’08
is a physical therapist and an
athletic trainer. She is the owner
of Elite Sports Medicine and
Physical Therapy in Gainesville,
Va. While attending the 64th
Annual National Athletic Trainers
Association Conference and
Athletic Training Expo, Hammond
won a HydroWorx PolarPlunge
pool. Out of 15,000 athletic
trainers who attended, her name
was drawn to win. The PolarPlunge
pool was presented to her by
HydroWorx and Washington
Redskins quarterback Robert
Griffin III. Hammond is married
to alumnus Jeff Bailey ’08.

John Vinson ’08 is the Republican
National Committee’s (RNC)
chair state director in Florida. The
RNC is expanding the Republican
Party’s unprecedented efforts to
engage voters across the country
earlier than ever. Vinson is one of
many staffers the RNC placed in
Florida and in other communities
nationwide as the party builds the
largest and most robust GOP field
operation in history.
Shenandoah faculty members Dr.
Sheri Hale and Dr. Andrea Fergus,
in conjunction with physical
therapy alumni Rachel Axmacher
’09 and Kim Robertson ’09, had
a paper approved for publication
in the Journal of Athletic Training.
The manuscript, Bilateral
Improvements in Lower Extremity
Function Following Unilateral
Balance Training in Subjects with
Chronic Ankle Instability, was
based on a project done while the
two were students at Shenandoah.
Kathyrn Ball ’09 and Benjamin
Ball-Heizer ’12 welcomed their
first child, Eleanor Kathryn
Ball, in May. Ball-Heizer was
appointed to the position of
full-time director of music
and organist with John Wesley
United Methodist Church in
Hagerstown, Md. Prior to this
position, he held a similar job
with First Presbyterian Church in
