Ashley Crawford ’08 presented a poster titled “Use of a Clinical Practice Guideline and Robotics for Locomotor Training of a Patient with Chronic Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury: A Case Report” at the Combined Sections Meeting in San Diego, Calif. She works with Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Centers in Richmond, Va. Drew Dobbins ’08 received his Master of Education in Sports Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2010. He worked in Ballpark Operations for the Cincinnati Reds, ProCamps Worldwide and was the assistant athletic director at Stuart Hall School. Currently, Dobbins has his National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and is the director of the Mountaineer Fitness Center & Campus Recreation at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, specializing in fitness, club sports, intramural sports and outdoor adventure programs. Anna-Marie Hammond ’08 is a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. She is the owner of Elite Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in Gainesville, Va. While attending the 64th Annual National Athletic Trainers Association Conference and Athletic Training Expo, Hammond won a HydroWorx PolarPlunge pool. Out of 15,000 athletic trainers who attended, her name was drawn to win. The PolarPlunge pool was presented to her by HydroWorx and Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. Hammond is married to alumnus Jeff Bailey ’08. master’s in counseling and human development in spring 2011. Kyla Quinn ’08 performed as Marian the Librarian in the Between the Lakes Community Service Players production of “The Music Man” in July in Ovid, N.Y. John Vinson ’08 is the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) chair state director in Florida. The RNC is expanding the Republican Party’s unprecedented efforts to engage voters across the country earlier than ever. Vinson is one of many staffers the RNC placed in Florida and in other communities nationwide as the party builds the largest and most robust GOP field operation in history. Shenandoah faculty members Dr. Sheri Hale and Dr. Andrea Fergus, in conjunction with physical therapy alumni Rachel Axmacher ’09 and Kim Robertson ’09, had a paper approved for publication in the Journal of Athletic Training. The manuscript, Bilateral Improvements in Lower Extremity Function Following Unilateral Balance Training in Subjects with Chronic Ankle Instability, was based on a project done while the two were students at Shenandoah. Kathyrn Ball ’09 and Benjamin Ball-Heizer ’12 welcomed their first child, Eleanor Kathryn Ball, in May. Ball-Heizer was appointed to the position of full-time director of music and organist with John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, Md. Prior to this position, he held a similar job with First Presbyterian Church in Dunn, N.C. Nathan Leon ’08 is the network control technician at Anglicotech, LLC in Washington, D.C., and runs his own personal training company, FitnessTech Personal Training. Rebecca Maylum ’08 graduated from Liberty University with a master’s degree in professional counseling. Brian Kelly ’09 presented the Shenandoah University High School scholarship awards at Millbrook High School in June. Terri Mills ’08 is a guidance counselor at Patrick County High School in Stuart, Va. She graduated from Radford University with a 40 concert in August on the Old Courthouse steps in downtown Winchester. Benjamin Luczak ’09, ’13 is the patron services manager for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. Lauren Wall Cook ’10 is a registered nurse at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va., and an adjunct clinical nursing instructor at Bryant & Stratton College. Katie Mott ’09 played Sister Robert Anne in the performance of “Nunsense II” at The Main Stage in Morris Museum in Morristown, N.J., from May through June. 2009 Sarah Hickie ’09 is an associate at Abrams & Bayliss LLP in Charlottesville, Va. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts from Shenandoah, Hickie graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law. Before coming to Abrams & Bayliss LLP, she worked with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Law Firm of Marilyn Ann Solomon and Wachovia Global Citizens Lending.
