RETURNING HOME WAS DIFFICULT for a while. Angela had missed many birthdays and holidays, and she had to adjust to returning to “normal” civilian life. However, her loving family was there to provide 100% support and encouragement, often reminding Angela how proud they were of the path upon which she had embarked. Recalling her time of service, Angela shares, “The military has given me strength I didn’t know I possessed. It gave me the drive to keep on going, no matter the situation or problems presented. It has given me the ability to communicate with most people, especially if their views are different than mine.” If you are considering service, she encourages you to choose a field of which you are knowledgeable, and keep an open mind in meeting many people of various backgrounds. Most importantly, “Take pride in knowing that your service to your country is bigger than you are.” Angela Robinson resides in Florence, South Carolina. She and her husband, Jamares, have three children: Aaliyah, Anfernee, and Brianna. Angela is an Administrative Assistant 1 for DHEC. SHEMAGAZINE.COM JULY 2016 95
