Veronica and Sam McFadden were married on November 20 , 2015 . They are each other ’ s definition of a soulmate . Their love story is especially sweet , and they share it so beautifully , each from their own perspective .
Veronica ’ s Love Story :
I met my husband when I was a customer at his workplace . Before leaving the store I wanted a cold drink , but the machine was down . I informed him , and immediately he apologized and refunded my money .
A few weeks later I saw him at a parade . I didn ’ t approach him because he looked like he was in a hurry . Minutes later I saw the cutest little chocolate band girl running into his arms . I thought it was the sweetest thing . That day I knew I wanted to know him better . It seemed like I kept running into him after that day . He later asked me out , and here we are !
My fondest memory is when we saw the movie “ Get Rich or Die Trying ”. The song , “ If I was your Best Friend ” was stuck in my head afterwards because I felt this way about him . But I didn ’ t say anything about it . The next afternoon I heard the song playing outside . I looked out the window and saw his car in the driveway . As I walked outside he turned it up louder ! In that moment , I knew I was his best friend .
Our wedding was magical . Thanks to my brother Jeremiah for bringing my vision to life , and my sister Tierra for assisting , and keeping me calm . I was able to feel nothing but love surrounding me . The way my husband looked at me took my breath away . Everything was simply perfect .
I know this gets said a lot , but it is true - married life is amazing , especially when you ’ re married to your best friend . My husband doesn ’ t care if I wear a hair bonnet to bed , so sometimes I ask my husband , may I sleep with my best friend ?
We ’ re workaholics , so spending time together is very important . We like to have what we call a “ fancy night in ”. We prepare dinner , sing and dance to our favorite songs before eating , and watch movies together . We have so much fun together ! I ’ m a hopeless romantic kind of girl , I can ’ t help it ! We have date nights often . Sam will call me from work and ask , can I take you out tonight ? Getting dressed I always feel like a school girl going on her first date every time .
I believe a soulmate is someone who has the key to unlock every area of your heart . Some couples can be together for years and still have the ability to hide their deepest feelings . A soulmate is able to unlock your fears and insecurities while falling deeper in love with you . They help you conquer your fears so you can be the person only they can see because they see your soul . Soulmates do exist . I knew he was the one when I showed him scars from my past . They were ugly and some places still hurt . Instead of turning away , he revealed his scars .
If I could tell my husband anything I would tell him thank you for treating me like a Queen . Growing up , Cinderella was my favorite movie . My father would dress me up in princess attire , and my mother treated me like royalty . There was a time in my life when I forgot who I was then Sam came along and placed me back on my throne . Whoever said fairytales are not real , they ’ re sadly mistaken because he is my Prince Charming .
If I were to describe my husband in one word , it would be “ selfless ”. Sam puts his family first . He would go without before any one of us is in need . I can recall many family outings when each of us would have something except him . His reason for being empty-handed ? He says that seeing us have what we want is enough for him . My favorite qualities I admire about my husband are his intelligence , humor , and his devotion to his family .
Sam has taught me that the true definition of love is hopeful and enduring . You never stop loving someone no matter who ’ s trying to stop you . Don ’ t give up . Remain hopeful , believing that one day the person you love dearly will find their way back to you . He has taught me to only focus on people who believe I have what it takes to inspire others , and to never give up on my dreams .
