SEVENSEAS Marine Conservation & Travel Issue 21, February 2017 | Page 11

would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt thank you to the hundreds of photographers, writers, scientists, educators, activists, researchers, artists, and

inspired young conservationists who have contributed to SEVENSEAS over the last two years and continue to do so with such fierce voracity that I'm inspired to stay up late almost every night emailing and putting layouts together.

I will speak on behalf of the vast majority of those mentioned above when I say that the past few weeks have shaken us to our core when the very thought of scientific conversation being suppressed and worse-off, data [funded by "the people"] is threatened to be erased.

I have the easy job, I get to read all YOUR stories, file through YOUR data, learn about YOUR emerging technologies and crystalizing innovation- and I am filled with hope even in the throbbing shadow of our debilitated natural world... we need YOU to continue and keep up the underfunded, underprivileged, ignored or even dismissed work to reverse the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world and expand ocean literacy.

Please encourage friends, colleagues, and classmates to like and subscribe to free products and organizations like SEVENSEAS (www.sevenseastravelmagazine.com/subscribe). The larger our network, the stronger our conservation message, and more significant our impact. We have one life and one planet. Make it count.

SEVENSEAS is the leading free publication that promotes marine conservation through community engagement, online media, and eco-tourism, every month, to our readers all across the globe. We ask that YOU be that inspiration for others to follow in your footsteps.

Safe travels & happy swimming,

Giacomo Abrusci
