On receiving some very good advice, we signed up for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card which almost instantly loaded us up with 50,000 miles so we decided on a quick weekend trip to Singapore (which was basically all for free). Walking though Singapore really is like looking into the future. Multi-culturalism, consumerism, a move to greener streets. It seems on the surface that everything is managed, manicured, and contained- whether you consider that a good thing or not, it made our weekend trip one of the easiest hassle-free excursions in a while.

Tourism in Singapore is a major industry and contributor to the Singaporean economy, attracting over

15 million international tourists a year, over three times Singapore's total population. Even so, Singapore is also extremely environmentally friendly and maintains natural and heritage conservation programs. Along with this, it also has one of the world's lowest crime rates. English is the lingua franca on the island, as well as one of four official languages in the country, which can make it easier for many tourists to communicate with locals and to receive advice on where to go and what to see.
